About Us

Te Puna Deli was opened in May 2018 by myself (Sam, originally from the UK) and my partner Attila (originally from Hungary). We have called New Zealand our home since we arrived as a couple of young backpackers nearly twenty years ago.

We originally took the space as an outlet and a means to process and pack cured meats for our wholesale business, The Hungarian Artisan Co., while utilising the retail space as a way to offer our customers a unique experience. We offer great coffee, fresh baking by Attila (a professional chef), and a selection of other small, local, and artisan producers.

As our business has grown, we have had the pleasure of working directly with many suppliers, serving our community and building a solid reputation for quality, individuality and excellent service.

We are jam-packed with delicious and interesting products, have plenty of cafe seating to relax, and enjoy a coffee and something to eat after picking up your groceries (local eggs, bread, veg, cheese, deli meats, lunch).
